For review by anyone.

This functionality can be exposed to users in one of two ways.

One is to add a flag arg to all eight variants of the write_term predicate
(with/without an explicit stream, with/without an explicit op table, and
with/without final period and newline).

The other is to add a new variant of each of those eight predicates,
which selects the new way to write unnamed vars.

I prefer the second one because it is backwards compatible, but
it needs a good naming scheme for the new variants, and I am
fresh out. Does anyone have any good ideas on this front?
